Yunokami Station - 湯野上駅 (km 25.8)

Timeline - タイムライン

  1932.12.22 - opened together with the Kamimiyori ~ Yunokami section of the Aizu Line. 駅は上三寄駅から湯野上駅までの路線部分と一緒に開かれた。
  1971.8.29 - freight service discontinued. 貨物の勤めは廃止された。
  1984.2.1 - baggage handling discontinued. 手荷物の取り扱いは打ち切られた
  1987.3.31 - freight service resumed. 貨物の取扱は再開された。
  1987.7.16 - Aizu Line taken over by third-sector operator Aizu Railway; station renamed Yunokami Onsen Station 会津線は第三セクターの会津鉄道に受け継がれた；駅は「湯野上温泉駅」に改称した。

Description - 解説

Two tracks with two sidings; there is also a siding for the freight house on the down main, and formerly there was a storage siding on the up main. The station building is on the downwards platform, connected to the upwards platform via a level crossing. Unsure, but I believe this is where helper engines attached to heavy trains at Kamimiyori (?) were removed to return to Kamimiyori.

現在で二つの相対式ホームのある二つの本線があります。下本線で貨舎の横にて側線の一つがある、過去で上本線で貯蔵線の一つもあった。駅舎は下りのホームにてである、上りのホームに踏切によって結んだ。よくわかりませんが上三寄にての重い貨物列車に付けられたの補助機関車はここで外されたと思います。

Passenger services - 旅客の勤め

All Aizu Line local trains stopped here, as did the "Aizu"/"Inawashiro" express trains. Although the upwards "Oze Flower" stopped here, the downwards one did not.

会津線に走ってのすべてのローカル列車はこの駅で止まった、「あいづ」／「いなわしろ」急行列車がしたように。上りの急行「尾瀬フラワー」はここで止まったが、下りのは止まなかった。

Freight services - 貨物の勤め

This was an important spot for freight service, but the nature of the goods transported is unknown to me as yet. There was often a small Kato shunter stationed at the freight platform.

これは貨物のために重要な場所であったがどんな貨物が輸送された私にまだ不明である。しばしば加藤製小さい入換機関車の一つは貨物ホームで駐留された。
